Last Friday, I walked in for a staff meeting and saw this cutie there.
Everyone yelled - "Surprise!" I turned red. Twice.
It seems my coworkers at FreedomRoads/Camping World had been sneaking around behind my back to plan a bridal shower. You see here the results of their friendly plotting - flowers, cake, bell-shaped confetti, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and yes, even presents.
No wonder the girls had been quizzing me about our wedding!
Here's what they sent out to the office -
Please join us for a Surprise Shower for Michi Regier
Date: Friday February 8th
Time: 2:00
Place: Training Room
We are planning a surprise shower for Michi in anticipation of her marriage to Todd on February 29th (yes, Leap Year!). In conversations with her, we know that she does not “need” or “want” anything in particular for themselves or their home. However, we know that she is VERY involved with the Bridges across Borders music program at the Casa De Elizabeth orphanage in Mexico. She volunteers her time teaching the violin to orphans there. So instead of a “thing” we plan to make her gift a donation to Bridges across Borders in their names. Below are the links to the music program and the orphanage.
The group that sponsors the music program: http://www.bridgesacrossborders.org/

My cube-buddy made me a bright warm blanket. My boss gave us some lovely guest towels. And a lot of people must have participated in the donation, because they collected enough to run the music program for another 5 months! I was deeply honored.
I never would have imagined, in my college days, that I'd work in a place where people would 'get it' the way these folks do. And they 'almost' put Sneetches on the cake --- but got voted down by the Art department. Even without Sneetches, I can't imagine how this could have been better. I can't stop saying 'thank you.'
Feeling loved -
Michi
